Worn solenoids, most likely the 1 to 2 solenoid easy to change

If the shift solenoids are worn out then its better for me to change the transmission out completely as a whole transmission is available for $180-250, while the cost of a solenoid kit or just even 2 solenoids exceeds it. Also to just clear things up some more, I have no O/D codes, the ecu caps have been replaced, the wiring harness in the trunk is fine. Only problem is with the No.1 vehicle speed sensor, the one currently installed is not from this transmission and does not give the correct pulses, thus the speedometer shows incorrect speed.
Well mine just reached a 100k miles,165000 km to be exact. That is the kind of mileage where solenoids should not go out. If I'm going to get a replacement trans, I may get the complete engine as well to swap into my cressida. We have to find engines here if we want a low miles one, but generally the average engine here has 60-100k miles on it.

Ive found my speedo is out aswell. Unsure why as tyre size is close to original.
I put an aftermarket solenoid for like 40 bucks or so. Not recommended but so far so good. And I dI'd it myself, drop pan replace, put pan back on. You can get used solenoids on ebay also. But to each his own
I know that there are solenoids that are cheap and easy to replace but getting things here from ebay or any other site is a pain in the neck. The shipping is too expensive and we a 60% custom duty on the overall cost of the import on all car parts regardless of new or used.
Another thing that I've started to notice is that there is a delay in shifting from 1st to 2nd, it changes gear, lags for half a second and then accelerates accordingly.

The brakes are fine, the brake pedal was depressed at least 50%. The mount is in good nick. Gear oil has been flushed 200 km ago. Will do another once 500 km is reached.
If the parts are free, they ask what was the shipping. If we tell them if the shipping is free, then they flag it as suspicious and take a long time in clearing it. The only way to avoid customs is if somebody coming here has brought these with them as personal baggage.
