1998 LS400

I currently have a master key programmed (Daily use)
i recently purchased a spare 3 button key from ebay.

My question is the following:
I am able to successfully get through section F under B1. However when i get to section G it cycles twice to indicate that the registration was unsuccessful. Any ideas on what could be causing this?

BTW i have already had the key cut and it does open/close doors manually. Also it has already been programmed to start the car. I just cant get the remote buttons to lock/unlock the doors.

any help would be greatly appreciated. I realize that key programming has been discussed in prior threads but i did not see any responses to my exact situation. Thanks

When you are following the steps, what are you pressing when it ask you in steps B and D to press the "power door lock" button?

It is actually talking about the physical lock switch, the part that moves when the door is locked/unlocked, on the driver's door.

 

Yes. I am using the physical lock. Not the lock/unlock button.
