Trunk Hinge Wiring Harness PN?
Can anybody tell me the part number for the trunk hinge harness that commonly decides to crack due to being stressed? Mine has brittle wires and I'd like to replace it, as I believe it's the reason for my Light Bulb out errors.

Personally, I think that the trunk harness thing has been blown out of proportion. It has been mentioned numerous times when people had problems with their brake lights, and other things, and almost every time it turned out to be something else.
In my case, it was the warning light module which is in the trunk. Those go bad and give all kinds of problems. Once they fail completely, your rear lights and/or brake lights stop working all together.

Not sure you want to buy and replace the entire harness. Most just fix the wires.
This might be helpful.

and this.

also might want to check the lexls.com site.
Assuming you have an LS that is pre-1995 where these problems were occurring.

repair the harness following the steps here:
http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/lighting/bulbout.html
The complete harness will be multiple hundreds of dollars, if it is available separately. We wouldn't be able to tell you without knowing the year of your LS and the market it was sold in.

I remember a thread on one of the Lexus forums about a person taking his gen 1 LS400 to a transmission shop when his transmission started acting up. They installed a rebuilt transmission. Guess what he later found. The shop had also repaired the wires in the trunk hinge. He didn't need a new transmission at all.

Sorry, it's a 1991 LS400.
I would really love to replace the harness at this point, as it's had two repair jobs at Lexus. This car had been dealer serviced up until 2009, with the last service being an alternator/belt/fan clutch replacement at 280K. It now has 310K, so it has only had 30K put on it in 7 years.
