A few words on Lexus engineering
I learned a few things while "reverse-engineering" my front end for my latest mod:
1) never be ashamed to use 3m tape. you can see the tape on the back of the fender end caps - right from the factory.
2) there are literally dozens of screws, fasteners and assorted widgets used to hold on the fenders and other trim.
3) those rubber "cushions" in between the glass and the fender are just stuffed into place. Lol

Fenders look great. The thing I never liked about fender vents is how they can look disjointed from the rest of the car due to the lines of the vents. The vent lines in the fender need to be carried into the front door (possibly back door too) in order to look like it was meant to be there... See pic to see an example of how the body lines follow the fender vent. I thought I saw a ls400 that had the custom body work but I can't find a pic of it now.

I would paint the fenders before they are installed. Why? Because who ever paints them is going to also paint the hood, and the front doors and windshield A pillar, to attempt a blend, I have not yet seen a blend that looks good especially after some years down the road.

Everything finally back together. As usual, assembly is a bit more difficult than tearing things apart - especially when you got fresh paint you're worried about scratching . All in all, the paint match is pretty good...not 100% but as I've said many times...this is customization not restoration. Cheers.
