Default Fender ?

Why is it that on the 2gs300 we have to shave the rear fenders n not roll them?

IMO, it's easier to just shave it. You won't risk having dimples either

a lot of members on the forums shave the front and roll the backs

rolling defintely causes dimples and a lot of other problems on the gs fenders!

Are you sure not the other way around? Shave the rears and roller the front?

shave rears and roll fronts a bit. if you have to roll more than "super flat" cut the mounting holes for the innner fender liner.

reason you cut rears is that its a thick double walled fender. not to mention, there are "rivets" so to speak where you screw in the upper fender moulding and those screw holders will leaves divets/bumps when you roll.

That's what I did. Completely shaved the rear; cut and rolled the front, "super flat"

i shaved my rears and now its about as thin as a quarter came out really good. Im glad i did cause i didn't realize how thick the fenders are... def munch up some tires if i didnt. I was told that if I rolled um i'd risk cracking the paint and they shaved it for free so i went with the shave.

I haven't looked at the front fenders but can it be shaved also?

Just bought staggered 19's and will need to replace front tires. What's on the front 9's are stretched 225/35 and I will want to go either 235 or 245. I'm guessing I'll need to roll the front but if other 2GS owners have shaved their front w/ success, I'll do it too. The rear wasn't hard to shave.

You do not want to shave the front fenders. It will weaken and want to fold in.

i rolled mine came out just fine. just heat them, as you know so they wont crack. use a roller though. hammering technique will cause dimples, ripples, etc.
