Default 92 LS400 won't accelerate and is sluggish

I have had my 92 ls400 for about three years now. It has 207,000 miles on it. I keep up on the maintenance as it should be. This car has ran fine till recently and resulted in me purchasing my now 99 LS400. I am obessed with these cars. The 92 was my first car and will forever be my favorite vehicle that I will ever own. I recently replaced the power steering pump, altenator, valve cover gasket on the passenger side, and a coil. The car was running fine for a couple of weeks. I do have an exhaust leak right at the end where the pipe meets the cat conver on both the right and left sides. At idle the car is fine. When I would start the car up it would sound like rocks clanking around in my exhaust beneath me. Then about a week after that the noise was still persistent, but at a stop light I would take off and the car would not accelerate properly (sounded and felt like a major vibration). It was like I had no power at all. It was a very long shift and once it shifted it shifted hard and lunged forward. I could only get to about 40 mph. I drove it to the dealership where I usually work on it and when I got out of the vehicle I noticed it was smoking from underneath. Yesterday I took off the cat convert to see how it sounded without them and it sounded like a loud muscle car. So yes my cats maybe be clogged but I feel there is something else still wrong. Could a different coil be bad? I want to sell this car to pay off my new car or I may keep it and customize it into something else either way this car has so much potential and I want it back to running.

first step is to pull your CEL codes. then get the leaks fixed. report back as to what you find.

The Y pipe that's right after the cats is a common issue on these cars. Take it to an exhaust shop to either have a piece cut and welded or purchase an after market Y pipe.

I had this problem yesterday. The cat after the Y pipe clogs the car's accleration. I fixed it by replacing the Y pipe and cat. converter.
