Default New LS400 owner here

First of all, thanks to everyone on this forum because I was able to confirm that I was getting a great car, prior to the purchase. So I picked up a 1991 LS400 with 95,000 miles on it. Original owner. The lady drove it 1 mile to work daily and then retired. silver grey, runs great. I even fixed the tilt issue with the help of this forum. Oh, did I say the price? $4000 I did a google search for "best used toyota" and up comes the LS400. I immediatly knew this is what I wanded because I remember seeing them when they first came out and they looked soooooooo good. Still can believe you can get this kind of car for this little money. Thanks again everyone

Yeah, I have solved every issue with my '98 400 on this (and lextreme.com) forums... All good... my 400 up to 280,000km still runs like a brand new car.... Woo Hoo...

Yeah good cars, but they are old even with low miles, and driven short 5 to 10 minute run times daily doesn't help, things are going to go wrong as nothing lasts for ever. The timing belt is probably due.
Good find, what options does it have?

Any photos? Great pickup for a very nice car.

Definitely check the maintenance records. A lot of things are probably due, including the already mentioned timing belt.

1 mile is not even enough to get the engine up to operating temp! certainly consider changing the timing belt and welcome to the club.

i'd be worried about that too, but it was still driven an average of 4500 miles a year. that's low but not like collector low... and as long as it was well maintained it should be relatively fine.

Photos are pretty much mandatory on a find like that. Congratulations and welcome to the club. May you have many more miles.

Give it a good carbon clean out, put it on cruise control at 110mph for a good 5 minutes
