Default OE Fogs...going old school yellow

I've seen a few other guys do this and I liked the look. Reminds me of JDM 80s and 90s when most sedans had fog lights and they were usually yellow.

Guess you could do this with yellow film or plasti-dip but I chose to use this special "lens paint" from Japan.

In anticipation of this mod I ordered a set of white LED and yellow fog bulbs. Once the lights were painted I tried out each bulb and by far the yellow(s) were the most "yellow". Lol. Photos in order: yellow, LED, stock.

Also re-sprayed clear on the dummy lights which were starting to yellow. Only thing missing now is the clear front turn signals which are on the way from Japan right now. Cheers.

I guess it gives it some contrast. I really like my first gen with the yellow fogs though.

First gen had fogs...or did you add them?

The fogs are next to the headlights.

Oh. And they are wired to only turn on with the headlights, right? Wish they worked independently...purely for aesthetics.

not really an "old school" thing. Plenty of modern cars are sold with yellow fogs too, and yellow foglight/headlights are common in sports car racing.

If you're looking for pics they shouldn't be too hard to find. I personally ran 3000k HID fogs circa 2009-12, and just switched back to them a few months ago.

Right. Did you take out the reflectors like some guys have? I honestly don't see how that could be done without breaking something - unless you bake them open.

reason yellow color is used on fog lights is bc it cuts through fog the best. look at cities where fog is frequent like san francisco or long beach, the street lights are all yellow! same with cars.

yours looks good with yellow fogs. i change my mine and flip from yellow halogen to clear LED twice a year or so. never had any luck with those lens paints as they fade over time.

Yeah I took them out. Don't really recommend when running HIDs because your beam pattern gets screwed up.

Default And speaking of the 90's...

I recently scored these chrome fender trim pieces from a guy in Canada. Not sure how rare they are but I believe they originally came from Germany. The beat-up box they came in looks like it had been collecting dust on a shelf somewhere for many years. I might put them on my car just for that "wth are those?" effect, or I might re-sell them. Cheers.

The later 80's the chrome wheel well arches were common/popular. Often included with extra chrome bits like door handles, window trim, wipers, etc.
