Default Restoring steering wheel

I recently got a 98 LS400. Seems to be in good condition. It is in the shop right now. The steering wheel is worn down though. Pieces of leather are missing. Is there any way to restore it back to the original look or at least make it look better?

Congrats on the new ride! I would recommend checking out your local junkyards. Is our airbag in good shape still?

Swap it out with the wood steering wheel from another 98-00. It'll look better and last longer.

Or ask an upholstery shop.

My 98 LS does not have the wood steering wheel. Just all leather. Is my car actually 1998?

Yup, optional on the 98, standard on 99 & 00, so any of them will fit your 98.

they have leather restoration kits, but they are mainly for seats not steering wheels, where they add patches to the missing areas. it would be best to have it reupholstered or as stated, get another wheel in better condition, for uniformity.

I have a wood steering wheel from a 1999 LS400 in excellent condition. What color interior do you have?
