New To Me LS400
An opportunity came up to buy a mint 1998 (Build date 11/97) LS400 that I couldn't pass up. I wasn't in the market for a LS... I have been looking for a 06/07 GS430 or 08-11 GS460 for months, but haven't been able to find one that meets my standards. Someone I know told me about the opportunity to buy this LS400, so I went down to take a look at it. In the back of my mind, I was hoping there would be something that I didn't like about it. I was shocked when I saw how clean the car was. It sat in the garage most the time and was always dealer maintained. It was almost too good to be true for the price, but I bought it without taking it to the mechanic, as I didn't want to miss the opportunity. I knew it hadn't had the 90K service (the car has about 95K miles), so I was able to get $1000 off what was already a good price IMO. I took it to Lexus this past Friday and everything checked out. The service advisor was shocked on how clean the car was. Overall I'm very happy with the car. It's suspension is extremely soft, which will take some getting used to, but it drives amazing on the freeway. Compared to the 92 SC400 and 02 GS430 I currently have, this drives completely different. I'll decide if it's something I'm going to keep or sell. Here are some pictures of the car:

Great score on a really nice car! Just keep up the maintenance and that car will serve you well for many years to come.
I wasn't looking for an LS400 when I found mine either, but very happy to be in the right place at the right time.

Nice. I recently aquired one in a similar fashion. Wasn't looking, just happened upon a super cheap one passed down the family. Except with 200k miles, the body/clearcoat is 'acceptable' for such mileage but the interior and drivetrain is 100% ****. Looks like you got the best of both worlds (inside and out + mileage)!!

Thanks. It's at 94K and some change right now. I don't want to say exactly what I paid, but it's what the 90-94 model goes for, so it was less than expected.
No air suspension... Wouldn't have bought it had it had the air suspension due to the cost to replace when, not if, it fails.

Hmmm a 90 to 94 goes average at 1800. High is 4500 low is 500 or so.
Air suspension, they ride so nice though. The conversion to fix is cheap.
