Default steering play

My 91 ls400 seems to have a play in the steering, is it possible to make adjustments to the steering box or am I looking at replacing the rack, any help will help..thanks oh by the way i'm new here

It could be the rack or the u joint and I'm sure there is a slip joint for extending the steering wheel so lots of things can get play. Then of course there are the inner and outer tie rod ends that would be number 1 on the list.

i use to get that slight pull to the right thought it might be from my worn out drums done that still same even done alignment

it was slip joint im not sure but it made my steering wheel alot harder

First off, welcome. Many Lexus owners replace the steering rack bushings to tighten up steering. These bushings wear and tear over the years and makes for sloppy steering Some brands are figs, daizen and the oem i.e. http://shopfigs.com/v1/index.php?rou...product_id=152
