Default dumb question. ..but 15-40 oil?

Its pretty thick oil, you don't want to suffer a cold start problem with oil that thick.
Stick to 5w40 or 10w30 or 5w30, it was just on sale here, and I had a look and put it back, I need cold start capability as I bet you do as well in Wisconsin.

15-40 is for diesels..not recommended for gas engines..bad for cats...but ironically enough its used to break in new engines

You can log on to the Lexus web site and request a (free) owner's manual.
You can also download PDFs if you like.

.....or you can call customer service and request a free owners manual and some other manuals as well. While you're there give them your VIN number and see if there are any outstanding recalls or service campaigns for your LS..1-800-255-3987.Good luck.
