Default anyone know if these godspeed coilovers will fit?

I have a 91LS with failed air bag system needing a conversion before we can even get it inspected to drive.

Says there for 95 -00 what is the difference? and are they of decent quality? If not I plan to just do a strut spring conversion but I am building the car for my brother and he would like bigger rims and lower stance as an option.

** or why the megan ez streets are only for the 95-00 Ls's?

Most the adjustable JDM coils were modeled on the UCF1X chassis. Variants that originate from Taiwan and China are based off many of these. The only adjustable coils that I'm aware of that do not fit the UCF1X are the Tein CS which were specific for the 95-00. Call the company to verify fitment. PD can chime.

RA40 is correct but in reality they will all fit. it's just that the rear shocks of 95-97 cars are longer. when 95-up specific parts (i.e. tein CS) are installed on an older chassis they will simply not drop as low.

i have not seen anyone on here with godspeed coils so i cannot say for certain if they will work for you. they will definitely fit the car, but how low are you planning on going?

not looking to go low at all.

car is not inspected or on the roads and will need new suspension before that happens.

IF i do not go coilovers and just go strut and spring what are my options?

Is it possible to just order suspension for a LS without air ride and installing that? or is a "conversion" kit necessary? I have lots of confusion on how were going to get this car back on the streets. struts look a lot better to the person doing the out of province inspection but shouldn't make much of a deal

Locally I can't find much, monroe would never email me back if they had a quick loaded strut I can install. but that would be the best value as they go 2 for 1 on sale all the time.

normal non-air shocks, springs, and top mounts are all you need.

so I have a 91 LS400.

I was just at the junkyard, getting mirrors and other small items for my other projects

but noticed next to the brake resevoir that there was a Container with compressed nitrogen!

What's that all about? and why does my LS not have it? seems air shock related.

Another question puredrifter, Should I just go in and ask for 1991 LS 400 struts and springs, the monroe easy strut I want comes with springs already installed or would i need to order seperate
XXX top hat
XXX strut
XXX spring and put it together myself?

Basically 800$ shipped for Megan Ez coils
and I found "Air ride conversions" to be maybe 750 shipped

So if I can find the monroe option at buy 1 get 1 free that may come under 400$ and may be the winner with ordering lowering springs at a later date for est 90$.

I believe the struts will ride Smoother than the coils would you agree with this? Car is for my older brother who had to salvage his Lincoln town car a couple years back and hasn't been the same he needs to get back into the big comfy boat life.

OE conventional strut/spring will always ride better than coilovers. if your junkyard has any LS400s i would get the factory strut assemblies, reuse the top mounts and springs, and get new shocks though i know you mentioned monroe comes with springs already.

junkyard springs= <150/set (bnib KYB springs <250 or lowering springs for 250-300)
top mounts: ~160-170/set (4) for KYB
shocks: ~75-80/each, x4--> ~$300ish

all in, around about 650-700 (tops) for an all-new oem-like ride.

I hate to sound so redundent or retarded

but I am just looking for 91 LS400 stock parts?

The monroe deal is buy 1 get 1 free on all pieces so I will price the shocks / top hats & hopefully springs out from them. If they can't provide springs maybe lowering springs right away.

How much worse is the coilover ride quality vs a strut option if the price difference is 100-150$ coilovers seem like a better deal. I am unsure if my brother will like the ride quality though, I have really stiff suspension in my 99 Legacy GT with a WRX motor and its fine but I don't know if a LS400 should be banging around like that

ride quality is not that much worse but it all depends on your threshold. most coilovers actually ride very controlled and not too bouncy since the LS weights a ton, vs your much lighter legacy.

if you're brother or whoever owns the car plans to lower the car anyway then coilovers is definitely the way to go! the adjustability is worth it alone in my opinion. plus getting coilovers, you will not have to piece parts together!

Default classified section

Look in the LS classified section. I think someone is selling Megan easy street for less that you are looking to pay for the other stuff.

Stay away from Monroe stuff if you plan on keeping the car. Perefectly fine for your mom's domestic minivan or POS sedan but are a poor choice for higher end cars.

You are looking for parts 90-94 and if you want to lower it, quality Coilovers are the way to go.
You can get brand new BC's for <$1000.
Megan's are nice too.

Godspeeed, D2 and a few of the other common eBay brands are passable for short term use.
