I have a 2002 LS430. My windshield wipers don't seem to be functioning properly. They sometimes get stuck half way when set to auto. I would have to turn them to off or another setting to make them work again. In addition, when they are sweeping they tend to bang against the wiper stops at the bottom of the windshield; they would bang agaisnt them especially hard and loud when they are set at high speed. This can't be normal. Does anyone have the same experience?

Sounds like a bad wiper switch on the steering column. I would definitely go into Lexus and have them replace it under the warranty. Tell them you were driving on the highway, it was pouring out and your wipers didn't work correctly. That you could have been seriously injured in an accident cause of your inability to navigate the fine automobile. Oh wait….it is a LEXUS never mind that seriously injured remark.
