Default Real LSD options???

Thinking about buying a 95-97 LS. Want to know if there are any LSD options. Looks like the 98+ LS had the 4 bolt diffs which is preferred. What are my options? Would a supra turbo auto diff work? What kinda power are these good for? I like the gear ratios of the 95-97s (3.62 I think). Any ratio from 3.62 to 4.10 would be best for me.

Do second Gen GS cars have more options. I am torn between the LS400 and the 2nd Gen GS cars.

Are you planning to boost it or do a 2JZ swap?

MK4 auto TT diffs work for 98+. I'd like to know how much the revs would change @ hwy cruising speed. There was talk on previous threads somewhere....

Planning a LS1 6-speed manual swap. I actually have the motor in an E46 BMW sedan not finished. Over a year ago when I started this project I was looking into a LS400, GS300, or E46. The E46 won out because of less weight and the sportier chassis. But I still keep coming back to the LS400. With the right set-up I still think it could be relatively light (for its size), and handle well. Now I am thinking about putting it in a LS. They just look so good lowered and on wheels. The BMW just isn't doing it for me any longer. I want something completely unique. More and more BMWs are being swapped. I have yet to see a LS400 with a LSx swap.

in theory you could just swap in a '98-00 rear subframe/suspension/diff then shove a mk4 supra (200mm ring gear not 220) diff into it. (that's USDM Auto turbo and any NA)

Ohhh, now this sounds like a fun project.
95-97 are the lightest, share the same suspension with the 98-00 cars and have tons of readily available suspension parts to compliment the engine package. There ahem been a few GS-LSx swaps already. the LS would definitely add a unique factor to the build.

How much power can the auto TT mk4 supra diff handle safely? How big is a 95-97 LS ring gear?

A member here already did an LSX swap in his LS400. However he kept the auto tranny. I haven't seen a t56 LSX swap yet. It's good to know about the diff option though, considering I swap the rear subframe to a 98-00 (I own a 96). I just wish the V160 getrag wasn't so damn expensive as I would slap this behind my 1uz and turbo the eff out of it

I suggest finding the Sloppy Mechanics on Facebook. all they do is LSx swap things. its Leroy Brown and The Law and all those guys.

but they will say your not very intelligent for running a manual trans (their words. Seen many people get the Manual vs Automatic flaming...). Automatic shifts faster and he is down in the 9s with a 260k mile junkyard engine with Chinese head studs and a big f-in turbo.

Leroy Brown:

and The Law:

both are automatic 4L80E if I remember correctly.

Not really into drag racing. I could care less if it shifts faster. Manuals make a car waaaaaay more fun to drive.

Well those guys are the ones to consult regarding LSx anything. The Law is actually being torn down, the 5.3 is gone and a 6.0 is going in. All those guys throw LS swaps in anything, but there are a bunch of guys who use the T56 in there still so they can help with that as well. Not sure how much help Lexus folks can be with LSx swaps but those slops can do it all.

Just go to the search bar on Facebook, and type in Sloppy Mechanics Public Page. The other one is private, only for elite slops. 8625 members on the public one and the timeline background is a maroonish car covered in mud.

Is it the green engine with the turbo? If not know where I could find info on it?
