i have a 91 ls400, and my speedo sticks at about 50mph.
i took it to the dealer, and the only option they gave me was to replace the whole thing, which costs alot!
the question i have is this :: does anyone know of a facility that can REPAIR the cluster instead of replacing it? i'm not having any luck finding one on my own.
Check the post/thread on page 2 (at the moment) of this forum called "Instrument Cluster Circuit Board is Bad! $1000 bucks!!!"
Towards the end of the thread there is an address of someone who repairs the instrument lamps and pointers in the clusters - I would think they might be able to fix your problem. I think the cluster comes out very easily- there are instructions in the thread. Please let us know how you make out - REGARDS - Herm
