Default spare key cost?

i guess the only place to get a spare key made is from the dealer but when i bought the car the guy only had the valet key. i don't have the alarm key or anything. does anybody know how much the remote alram key would be or how much it would be just to get a spare key cut without the remote alarm on it?

What year is your car. Depending on the year your car may have a chip on it and those keys are expensive. If you do not have a chip, I know a shop in Queens that can do it for 25 bucks.

I'm pretty sure 91's don't have chips, and they don't have alarm keys either. My 95 has seperate alarm controls.

I locked my key in trunk while sampling my groceries. It took 5 days to have a new one sent from MI to OH. Without the chip 55.00, with the chip- 300.00. I paid 55.00. I knew exactly where to find the other one. Still, a pretty expensive Slim Jim. Now, I wait until I'm comfortably seated to enjoy the spoils of my shopping.

It cost me $10 bucks to get the spare key (without any remote). They said it will cost me almost $350.00 to get the key with remote, 'cause they only can get it from Lexus manufacture.

I have a 92 LS400. Keyless entry stopped working. I had to replace a chip in my car along with a new key (Sold as a matching pair for $650 Canadian at the dealership) I ended up finding one for a much cheeper cost about $200 US, the key was already cut but I just opened the head of the key, unsoldered the transmitter and put it in the head of the key that was cut for my car. I'm pretty sure it's the same for 90-92. Not sure about 93+ .
If anyone needs a chip an key let me know and I'll see if my sources can get another one. (In order for this to work properly you will need a key already cut for your car in which you can remove the remote chip from the head of the key and replace it with the chip that comes in the new key)

I also purchased a spare key (Without remote) got the uncut key on ebay and then took it to a local lock smith to put it. However it took me a while to find a lock smith with a machine that could cut high security keys.

I got the key from Mission Viejo Lexus dealer here in Southern California. Let me get their phone number and I 'll get back to you so you could call them up or order via phone.
