Question On Ordering Service Manual

I decided I'd better buy a service manual for my '91 LS400. I went to two different sites, www.books4cars.com and www.lexus-parts.com, to check prices.

books4cars has "91 LS400 Lexus Service manual - 2 volume set" for $159.95"

lexus-parts.com has "R/M 1991 LS400 Volume 1 and 2" for $101.96. The item number is "00245-RM203-U" which looks like it might be a Lexus part #?

There's such a difference in price I thought I'd better confirm that they're the same thing. IOW, did Lexus put out both Service Manuals AND Repair Manuals for my LS or are they really the same books?

If you call the Toyota Material Distribution Center customer servide number (1-800-622-2033), I'm preet sure they will be able to answer all you questions.

I called and it appears that they're the same thing. FWIW, the distribution center wants $135.00 for the manuals and they're on backorder right now.

Looks like I'm off to lexus-parts.com!
