all T-IV is non-synthetic, but that ebay auction is no bargain, with the shipping charges, I can buy it slightly cheaper from my local Toyota dealership

also, this auction looks suspicious, there is a label under the label, what does it say?

it might be 15 year old 3309/T-IV and it does go bad on the shelf (shelf life is about 4 years)

but my main issue is that is a 55 gallon container, so he is gonna send you 1 gallon of some mystery ATF in an unknown container, what guarantee do you have that he ships you what is in the photo, since he has to pour out a gallon - your transmission is too expensive for a non-factory packaged ATF

That's a rip off, this **** is like 6$ a bottle here in Canada, where its always more expensive for stuff.

Just go to the dealer, and if you tell them you want a box they should be even more lenient with the price, but giving it close to cost. That's how I get mine.

I can get the Mobil version for $5/quart locally. Others have used "universal" ATF like Valvoline MaxLife or Castrol Import Multi-Vehicle with success.

ExxonMobil is Toyota's aftermarket lubricant supplier for the moment - but also think Idemitsu also supplies them too.

Idemitsu supplies Toyota with other lubricants such as engine oil - Exxon Mobil has the patent on 3309 (T-IV) and supply all of it to Toyota, Volvo, BMW, Chrysler/Jeep, Mazda, etc.
