1995 LS 400 I rebuilt tranny 80K ago, about 2K ago the ECT light began to blink, with my mech. we summized when they R/B the tranny they did not change out the main sensor inside the tranny. I had that changed out and all was fine until 100 miles ago. Now it will begin to blink, as before, when I go over 50 mph. I can turn it off and the blinking stops. But again about every one out of three times I go over 50 it begins again. The tranny runs fine, no noise or funny feels, shifts just fine. I am wondering if it is electronic or maybe in the speedo cable? I also thought maybe there was a connection to this problem and the cruise control.
