just started doing this the other day, the GPS and stereo do not turn of even with the key out of ignition,i can turn the head unit of manually but due to the gps being in japanese i cant turn it off, if you even can turn it off manually,,, im not sure.. has anyone had this problem? jump starting every morning is a bit impractical

 

If it was a U.S. specification car and if the cigarette lighters also work when the key is removed from the ignition, I would speculate that there is a problem with the ignition key lock cylinder. It sounds like it is sticking in accessory mode.

 

a mate at work actually mentioned that to me today, sounds like it could be the problem,, cheers
