no, the dash lights and security system are not related

the dash lights are probably the dash cluster capacitors or else the ECU capacitors, your buddy needs to do both - but capacitor selection is very critical, so post pics of the dash cluster board and I will help you locate the correct Japanese premium low-ESR capacitors for it

 

I will work on that later. He told me he'd be back in late Arg.

 

I talked to a Lexus mechaic tody. He said that '94 LS did not have immodifyers, they did have a starter cut out. He talked me out of buying a master key, daying it couldn't help and I would gain anything.

He reminded me that might have flooded the engine - and that floring the pdedal would clear it out by shutting down the fuel flow.

Didn't help.

 

Found the problem...

...the coil pack. More specically,it was the retainer that holds the coil pac in place. That little piece on information cost me $150 - the cost of diagnose and repair, which was only the replacement (used) retainer -- or 1.5 hours billed.
