Default Vibration

I have a vibration at highway speeds from time to time. What i have done, new tires, new brakes. i am going to have the new tires checked to make sure they are in balance but the vibration comes and goes. any ideas or suggestions would be much appreciated

i havent replaced the mounts but i have another issue that may be related. my car seems to wander at highway speeds almost as if the wind is blowing my car side to side over the road. any ideas or advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks

241,000,000 miles?!?!? haha jk

yes i agree with the tranny mount, change it for less vibes!

as for the wandering, at that high mileage you most likely have suspension bushings that need replacement. check the rear suspension such as the strut rod. have you replaced your shocks yet?

The wandering could be the trailing arm bushings...I changed mine and it fixed that problem.

+1 on the tranny/engine mounts. it fixed the vibration on mine. i had a front control arm with a bad ball joint when i first bought mine as well, changing it tightened up the steering real nice.

when you get your tires balanced, make sure they have a Hunter Road Force balance machine, like the Lexus dealership does, makes a difference!

i believe the vibration is the mounts. new tires and new brakes. only vibrates at 40-50 and 80-up around 95 of so and i can throw it in neutral and the vibrations all but go away

My vote is engine mounts thats what solved my intermittent highway vibrations.

Jack the tire off the ground, grab the top and bottom and see if there is any back n forth movement...if it's noticeable i'd consider ball joints if your wheel bearing is good...that can also cause the back n forth movement.

Yup, pretty much what i did. I just pulled the tires off and physically checked the suspension parts for anything odd. The front left steering knuckle had alot of play in it and would make all sorts of clunking/tapping sounds when you would wiggle it by hand. I threw a new upper control arm and it was rock solid again.
