Default Cold starting issue

I have a 1990 Toyota Celsior which seems to have problems cold starting. I'm not too sure where to start trying to diagnose with this or what it could be?
When I start it cold it idles fine but when I stop at the end of the driveway after reversing out the revs drop and the car dies. After starting it 2-3 times i can get it going down the road and the problem is no more when i come to my next stop.
Any ideas what it could be? I thought it might be the MAF sensor?

Idle Air Control Valve (IACV) and ECU caps are two things that could cause this, but not the only two things.

you need to scan this car for codes, then clear the codes by disconnecting negative battery cable for a few minutes, then recrank and see if stalling comes back, then scan it again - report initial and returning codes back here, and we can analyze from there.

Replacing the Coolant temperature sensor could help as well. My cold idle was stabilized TREMENDOUSLY from a new one.

So i just checked the codes and there is none. Was blinking non stop every .25sec. Cleared them anyway so will see how it goes next cold start. I have been getting by the stalling issue by holding the brake hard on when changing gear so i can keep the rpm up by giving a little gas
Will look into replacing the coolant temp sensor though.
