a likely place to look is the door sensor, the lights are supposed to stay on until you open driver's door, which should turn them off
you need to tell us the year and mileage when you post a question because LS400's are different in some ways depending on year model
if the car is 1994 or earlier, investigate the wiring in the curl of the driver's side trunk hinge.

So i checked the wires in the trunck hinge and not one wire was broken... I tryed some random stuff like takin off the fuse for the cluster (under dash), now wen i shut off the car evrything shuts off as normal..if i put back the fuse and turn it on and off again all day time lights are on again..i was thinkin maby a relay problem??..so I hadd doubles of all relays from my other ls same year and that didnt fix the problem Would there be anything els i should look in to?? Thanks again.
