Well evryone After doing some study of the information I down loaded from the Toyota information site I decided to try the replacement of all 4 of the Oxegen sensors and, Low and behold it helped with clearing the code of it running lean! But and there is always a "But" and that is that the engine still will not respond sometimes and some times it does just fine for a little while. So my next area of research wil be into the Injectors. Its all that I have not looked into. Any advice in this area would be appreciated. I really cant complain over the money I have spent on my beloved 400, it did need all I have done too it so far. And it now almost ready for another 185,000 miles of beautiful driving. Thanks to all who have helped.

how are u going to "research into the injectors"? i highly doubt its ur injectors as they rarely fail..apart from using a noid light and/or pulling them out and checking for spray patterns u cant do much, besides that...u think all 8 have failed? if 1 or 2 have it would still run with a misfire. so dont waste ur time in that direction.

I have not yet cleaned the throtel body and have had some reservations about that as I have heard stories of people screwing it up and haveing to buy another one wich I dont want to do. I have another LS 400 that I bought to fix-up for my wife, it is a 1991 model and I have swaped out many parts to check for failure of different parts and many have had no effect on the issue of the acelerator not responding as it should. So if you can tell me how to clean the throttel body corectly I would be willing to try the cleaning. Thanks for any help evryone has been very helpful and I do appreciate positive feedback. I hope that by shareing my attempts at repairing my care I can help others with there cars.

Well Cowboy it has been awhile since last visit and have good news. I have found the problem with the accelerator not working, it was the fuel pump computer! I did some research on the Lexus site here and found an artical by another member who had a similar problem and tried his test of the FP control module located behind the seat. His test involved jumping the wire under the hood on the OBD1 port and low and behold the car runs like a new one. So 'Thanks to all" who gave some great advice and helped me through this diagnostic problem. So if anyone out there has my similar problem the cure is on this site with pictures.

Well Cowboy I cant rember the exact thread but here is the Members club name , brad11140. and Here is what he said was a good write up with pictures on the modification to by-pass the computer. http;//www.clublexus.com/forums/perf...tures-faq.html i hope this answers the question for any out there with the same problem. I know that I was close to the end of my rope and was really depressed for not knowing what was wrong with my beloved LS400. I would rater know what was wrong and not have the money for awhile to fix it than to not know what to fix. I have some maintnance issues to get done this summer and that is not a big deal compaired to the last issue. So take care and let me know if I can help you with anything as Little as I know about. I am always willing to help those who help themselves.
