HELP! i have a 94 lexus sc400 and sometimes when i start it, it will immediately run rough and stall shortly after, it will repeatedly do this until i turn the ignition to the run position for 30 seconds or so then crank it. typically it will run great after that with the exception of a gurgly sound from my full pump for a few seconds. i have had this problem for at least 4 years now and am finally fed up!

any ideas?

I have a similar problem. Anyhow I have a 92 sc400. It start then stall after 5 to 10 seconds of running. If I try to gas it, it stall right away as if it was lacking air or fuel. I narrow it down to either the air flow meter AFM, throttle position sensor TPS or fuel problem. I test out the fuel pump pressure and the fuel pump ecu, I even bypass it, fuel pump function perfectly normal. I also did a tune up replacing the wires and plugs, cap and rotor. Clean out the throttle body unit. Same problem, so now I'm going to replace the TPS first and if that doesn't work, the AFM next. Any help before I go broke. Thanks

 

What about the fuel filter? Try replacing it.

 

I put a new fuel filter and air flow meter. Same thing. Help

 

Also after starting it, it stall right away heavy gas odor. So I took the spark out cylinder #1, there was gasoline all over it. I also just if I had spark which I did. What I think the car is lacking air. I already change the air flow meter. So what's next guys.
