still sounds like a bad alternator. how did you know your alternator is good? how was it checked?

check the fusible link from the alternator, if it's been tripped it would need to be replaced before the alternator will charge the battery again.

if it's reading 19v your "new" alternator has a dead voltage regulator...

Default Electrical leak

I was trying to find a short so I did the test with the little bulb and I pulled all the fuses I could find(engine compartment and under the steering wheel) but the bulb still stayed on so I had no luck trying to find the short. I disconnected my positive cable and put the little clamp on the battery post and put the sharp pointy end on the positive cable, at least I think I was doing it right. Any ideas on what to do next or where to look?
