Impact Drivers aren't air tools! pneumatic impact drivers are.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Impact_driver

all you need is an impact driver, a bit, and a hammer.

taken from this thread:
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls4...0-ls400-2.html

i use an impact driver to remove those bolts that hold the rotor to the hub. it prevents stripping as you pound it out using a hammer (in my case, mini sledge). i never use a regular screwdriver. spray some PB Blaster or WD40 to loosen the threads.

NOTE: this was on my honda but the principle remains. you can see the sledge in the background.

if you stripped the heads, you can make a slot into them using a dremel, then use a flat head bit on the impact driver to get it out.

just wanted to add, the reason this works is because phillips head screws are designed to Cam-out when reaching breaking torque, flat heads aren't. So if the screw's well and truly seized you can break the flat head bit before getting it loose.

TL;DR: Wear eye protection.

If you drill out the head, you can replace the screws with stainless ones from the hardware store or run without them. Their main function is to locate the rotor while you put everything back together, debatable if you absolutely need them.

For the Caliper bracket bolts, 6pt socket, some pb blaster or liquid wrench and a breaker bar. A couple of whacks with a rubber mallet if it's on there good. Remember, lefty loosie, righty tighty.
