How old is the battery? Without a battery in top shape any car can have a dead battery after a month.

most batteries won't take that kind of abuse even when new! You really need to throw a trickle charger on it when you leave it alone for more than a couple weeks...

Thanks... Have never had a lexus before was not sure if this was common, the battery is new...I have a dodge pkup that I use to haul things.... can be a couple weeks sometimes before I need to use it... and never had a problem... so with the lexus having so many things electronic I was not sure it that would be the reason, or if I Needed to look for a short....thanks for the help I appreciate it.... it is a great car....just needs alot of little things done to it, climate control, inst cluster replaced, door sensor, a few bulbs etc.....timing belt, plugs filters etc all replaced.... I have heard the water pump should be replaced around 60,000 miles is that true ????

Speaking of batteries, Optima gel batteries are fantastic. No corrosion either. I have had a Optima sit for nearly 60 days, hooked up with alarm and clock, and fire the car right up.

Water pump is usually done with the full timing belt service. 90,000 miles or every 7 years.

There should also be a switch marked Remote on/off just above the trunk and gas flap controls, if you read the handbook it recommends turning off the remote opening when the car is unused for some time to conserve battery power.

^ I am with this guy - If you are not going to use the car for weeks on end, why not disconnect the battery cables? - Only takes a minute...

Default 94 ls400

Thanks for all the help regarding the battery, It would not be sitting for that long, but the timing belt, water pump, instrument cluster, climate control, and Air conditioner compressor needed to be replaced.... I will turn off the remote switch....As soon as all of these are taken care of I plan on driving the car......
Would anyone know where I could find the plastic cover for the courtesy floor lights ???? along with needing all new bulbs this car was missing the plastic light covers.. thanks

get a battery tender and keep the battery charged if you do not plan to drive the car for more than 30 days
