1995 ls 400 instrument cluster

My gas gauge light is on but is a little under the half tank mark. Anybody know why this is happening?

do you actually have half a tank?
its not unheard of for the needle to get "lazy" but the gas light to still work properly.

My gas gauge was working fine. I had the flickering light problem so i sent it in to get fix. When i got it back, i notice my gas light would come on when i'm at the mark for last quarter tank so i went to fill up my tank and indeed it was the empty. I contacted the person that fixed it for me and they said that the needle needed to be replaced.

Did you just get your cluster fixed?
