Congrats! But I gotta ask, did it have it's 90k service yet?

Either way you'll love it.

drop 1-1.2k off whatever price you agree to if it needs the 90k service done.

That sucks. Just b/c the engine has low milage doesn't make the car (209k) worth much. Just so everyone knows, how much was the guy asking?

craigslist ads are very deceiving. next time, make sure you call the seller and get all necessary info. Save you the time.

Yeah, not too many are truthful. I must have looked at 15 LS's before I got mine. I just saw one in New York (cant remember where) for 1K. But didn't have a pic of body damage. Sounded good though, wish I had a grand.

MAN!!!! brings back an old memory.

This guys posted a 98 SC300 for 4500. He said that it had a small piece of the front bumper missing because he hit something on the freeway. Everything else, he claimed was in good condition. I drove damn near 3 hrs to look at the car.

Small piece of bumper missing???? NOPE 1/4 of the bumper was missing.
Rear Quarter panel had a bad bondo job done, with no paint.
And to top it off, it wasn't even a 98....it was a 97 without the gated shifter. He gave me some BS about the production date. If it was past june 97....then you round up, making it a 98.

Lets not get into details on how I reacted and what I did.

can top these stories i think

was shopping for an IS a year or so ago, msgd a guy back and forth a few times and he was adamant about how clean and well maint'd his car was, so i met up with him (thankfully local).

not only was the car dirty (never a good sign), but there was crash damage on the front right AND rear left, random scratches/key marks ALL over the car, it had 3 different types of tires on it, AND the guy had ZERO maint. history on it. at least on paper. "my shop did all the work in cash and never gave me receipts." (right, for the 4 years you owned it you never had any receipts...)...

I got a good guy on craigslist. I think it depends. Personally, I would rather deal with people on craigslist that may or may not be shady than deal with any used car salesman.
