Front brake backing plate question.
Hi guys, my front left (driver) backing plate is rattling and actually sometimes touches the rotor, I don't know how as there's about a centimeter of clearance between the piece that touches the rotor and the backing plate. I was looking at it when I was getting my tires balanced today, couldn't see any bolts that would hold the backing plate on, so i'm wondering how it is held on and if anyone knew the cheapest place I could locate one.
My other question is, does anyone have a diagram of how it's put on? I'm not 100% sure but I heard that it goes on before the wheel bearing? If this is so... I'll need to get one asap because I was going to replace my front left wheel bearing as it's actually pretty bad and has a bit of play when you wobble the wheel.
I kinda need quick responses as I was planning on doing the wheel bearing on Thursday at the latest, so if the wheel bearing as to come off to replace the front backing plate, then i'ma need to locate one ASAP.

Yeah, it's all bent up and has a couple wear holes... I don't really want to remove it since it protects from rocks, dirt, and other garbage I don't want to get jammed up in my caliper.

it doesnt protect the caliper at all lol, it's more there to keep the rotor clean when going over loose wet terrain and keep the bottom of the car free of brake dust. if you need a wheel bearing, you could try finding a complete knuckle near you and that way have a working bearing and an unbent dust shield.

Well I mean, I'm sure it prevents from rocks/pebbles directly hitting the rotor and getting lodged between the caliper and the rotor is what I was trying to say.
