Squeaky Brake Pedal ?!?
Hello ~
My 1994 LS has a squeaky brake pedal, or at least when I press it down it squeaks , It just began, and I really want to fix it, quite annoying. Is this a do it yourself task, if so what do I do, a little oil? , any advice would be great !
Thanks,
Paul

you mean the pedal assembly itself is squeaking, not the brakes or the pads?? i guess if nothing is worn out or none of the metal is in bad shape, you could lubricate it with a medium to heavy type of oil. i guess you could use wd40 but it would run, smear, and wear out quicker than chunky grease.

I wouldn't recommend WD-40 on anything. WD-40 is a temporary fix. You will have the problem back soon using it.
Try locating the squeek. You can use WD-40 to locate the squeek. Lightly spray joints while causing the squeek until you hit the right one and the squeek stops.
Even oiling will eventually need to be re-oiled again. Best is to push some grease into the squeek, bearing grease is fine.
But, it's not supposed to squeek, so you do have a possible mechanical problem, which means the best bet is to have it repaired or replaced. It could just be a bushing, or it might be the whole peddle assembly.
But! Don't use WD-40 for anything you don't want to keep breaking....WD-40 is not a fix.
