Default Brake pedal clunk / stick

hi all

ive recently been experience my brake pedal to me clunking when I push down on the pedal to stop. It will also stick at a certain point and then once past that point is when it makes the clunk noise. The pedal also has a lot of travel In it. Today while sitting in an hour of traffic the pedal was very soft, 30 mins later the pedal is sitting right at the top and will stop with barely any issue

what could be the issue

worn brake pads and/or air in your brake lines or maybe bad master cylinder

1) check your brake pads and rotors for wear
2) flush brake lines

do those first, if you still have brake problems, then your master brake cylinder may be bad, not sure how to diagnose that besides taking to a mechanic.
