will a 1998 ls400 front end fit on a 1995 ls400?...and what exactly would have to be changed?

To make it match, you'll want the rear seat for the middle head rest and the trunk lid and tails. Then to be picky, the wood steering wheel and door liners which also have the wood trim. I cannot recall what the 98 had but the 99's had the wood accents in the interior. (?)

In the end, unless you have a junked 98+ ready to go and cheap, the conversion is going to be $. Given the age the practicality of this is even less. Easier to spend the extra $ for a 98+ and get the VVTi motor along with the side seat air bags.

What I'm unsure of, what year LS did the auto tilt mirror came in when the car was shifted into reverse?

 

tails won't bolt on unless he redrills the trunk lid.

should be '99 for the auto tilt down.

 

not sure about a 98, but my 99 the mirror auto tilt in reverse!

 

iirc.. the 98, only the right side tilts down when in reverse. for the 99-00, they tilt down for both left or right when in reverse, depending on which side you select.

 

yup, sadly my 98 only has the right side tilting down.
