Default Darn Brake Squeal!!!

My 98 LS just wont quit squealing (Fronts). Recently replaced front and rears with OEM pads, and new front rotors. I've done plenty of brake jobs (previous cars) so this is not my first. Just recently did my GS as well and never had this darn squeal issues.

The fronts started to squeal after a week....drove it for another 2 weeks maybe it will eventually dissappear but no luck on that. So I tore it down again...actually TWICE! made sure everything is all good, checked if any parts missing etc. AND applied brake quiet again!!! at the back of the pads etc. never forget to put those but to my surprise it still squeal...man I tell you. This is getting really irritating.

What I am missing here??

did you both make sure that you have all the metal shim plates AND properly bed down the new brakes?

(and obv, grease the contact area between the pistons and the pad.

yes sir...have all all shim plates. and did a proper bed down the very first time I installed them.

Greased all contact areas. I'm really scratching my head on this one. It can't be the parts as they are all OEM..so no cheap pads here. Since squeal caused by vibration so I rechecked everything 3 times!!! nothing I can see wrong.

Simple fix. remove pads and coat the face of the PAD with BG Stop Squeal, let it dry and put them back on. NO MORE SQUEEL.
used it for 30 years.

Do you guarantee it? Like the OP, mine squeel too, but the rears.

I imagine it can be bought at AutoZone, O'Reilly or your favorite local auto-parts store, yes?

sorry billy, but that's the LAST thing i'd ever put on a set of brake pads.

PD, to each his own.....
all I know is it works, NEVER had a failure, took the sound away every time. I was in business for 30 years with many many life-long customers, and had no problems with this product, EVER. we had a man come to our shop to service us. but last year we needed some for my 99, and I called the distributor in Irving and he brought us 5 bottles, $5 each. I assume it is in parts houses also.
good luck ....
NOTE: we got 5 because my nephew uses it on every brake job he does. it goes a long way.

Stop Squeal Service
Problem:
Brakes that squeal and grind are annoying and need to be quieted or replaced.

Solution:
First, a complete inspection is done to determine the condition of the brake pads, rotors and drums. Worn brake parts are replaced, the calipers are lubricated and a special treatment is added to the pads to prevent squealing. This service will give you peace of mind and a lot less noise every time you stop.

we spread the fluid over the total face of the pad with a small brush.

well..i've been using CRC brake quite for a long time to prevent squeal and been working great. Usually the squeal is between the piston and the back of the pads, not the front of the pads that contacts the rotor. Now, I may take a look at this product and see....Thanks

I have experienced it with different cars. One thing that I did was to shamfer the friction area with a fine file-45deg about 1mm wide.
Remove the disc and clean behind the disc.I do it every time I replace pads on cars. You will be suprised the amount of rust and brake dust that accumulate behind the discs.

Lube the ears where the pad fits into the caliper stand. Often overlooked!
