Unhappy Cracked windshield

The windshield of my new LS430 (only a month old) was hit by a rock and it made a crack that the window repair guy said can't be repaired.

Is there something I should be aware of when I get the windshield replaced. Is there any issues with the rain senor?

Interesting, my 95 ls400 had a rock chip over the past month and I had it repaired. I know that when I made the appointment, the repair person was interested to know if the chip/crack was longer than an inch. He also wanted to know if the chip was larger than a nickle. Mine was not, and he made the repair for $50. I can't find the chip and my insurance company covered the cost without a mark toward the number of claims. You may want to make a few more calls. Good Luck

the rain sensor uses lights that reflect off of each other or something, i think, that is how it detects rain, not actually by pressure on the winsheild or anything
