Hey everyone,

I recently purchased a 1998 & 1999 LS400. The 1999 has 170K and the 1998 has 72k. That said I can't figure out why the steering is so much lighter on the 1999. Also I have a whinning noise on the 1998 with 72k miles. I can hear it in first and second gear and it goes away in third. However it is not very loud and when the car warms up the noise gets quieter but does not go away. I can't make out wheather its coming from the tranny or engine.

Your input and help would be appreciated.

What is the condition/color of the PS and tranny fluids?

 

Change LUBS first then... maybe vain pump
