Default Power lock switch - Compatibility - Help!!

Hello Floks, Well my 91 LS400 is getting really close to having all the small problems fixed. I just found out the the power door lock switch is bad in the Master window switch panel. Is it easy to replace just the switch, or should I replace the entire Master window switch panel. If it is easy to replace just the switch is the one from the passenger side the same? Are any other models compatible? I know I can get them on Ebay, but when I went to the junk yard they brought me 3 to check and all had broken power door lock switches, so im kinda concerned about buying one there. Is this a common problem? I will check here in the classifieds to see if maybe a member has a good one. I trust everyone here alot more than Ebay sellers!

As always thanks for all the help you floks have given!

The cover on my master door switch broke off too, although the switch still works. I'd also like to know if the door switch can be replaced by itself, instead of replacing the entire master switch unit, which is expensive.

If you take the switch unit (lock & window) off the door panel, flip it over, take the screws out of the assembly, I think inside you can change out just the door lock switch. At least that's what it looks like. Idk about just the button on the lock switch, both of mine are off. I never used the lock switches since I owned it, I just use the remote.

But is the passenger side switch compatible with the drivers side. I can buy that one alot cheaper than buying the D/S master switch assembly. They sure look the same, but wondering if anyone has done that. Or maybe if someone has the part numbers for the switches for both sides.

They don't list part numbers for the switches individually, just for the entire units.

The PAX side power lock switch is not interchangeable with the driver side switch.

The PAX side switch can be removed from the console and replaced with a new switch. You simply remove the connector, remove the switch, snap in a new switch, replace the connector and you are good to go.

The driver side power lock switch is physically integrated into the entire console assembly structure. You cannot R&R it separately.
