Horta - thanks for useful information you've posted, major bummer with your accident, I dont have any pertinent advice but do wish you luck with resolving the situation.

I recently purchased a 99 LS400 for my wife (which of course I use at every opportunity ).

The only complaint I have is that it has non-functional "cornering lights" (lights that activate with turn signals to illuminate the side of the car you're turning towards).

I've also seen pictures of a 98 LS on edmund.com that shows these lights as marker lights (yellow lights in the picture).

Does anyone know whether these are supposed to work on a 99? Are these lights pre-wired or have an existing socket but no bulb?

Any responses would be appreciated.

some of the country don't have the sidemaker light as the US model so they put the light next to the foglamp..

I will do that if i change the new bumper..

 

I think the side marker next to fog light was standard on all '98s, and the separate side marker (marked "5" in my first post) was standard on 99 and 2000 models. Check out picture galleries of Edmunds:

i have a 98 LS and the cornering lights don't turn on.
