I am EXTREMELY reluctant to go back to that Lexus dealership. Even before the service, I had a very bad feeling about the service department there. I'll call the police before I ever go back there again.
LOL call the police for what? you have no evidence of any legal wrongdoing at ALL.

as of right now you have no case against them given that you seem to have a problem with the car, and instead of just taking them the car and saying "you broke it, so fix it" you are looking for the MINUTE possibility that they SWAPPED THE ENGINE instead of giving them the chance to fix it (which they are legally required to have! it's the nature of the business that often times auto repair requires multiple trips to fix recurrent/new issues).

to be honest it seems like you're over-reacting, looking for a possibility that has near no chance of being right instead of giving the dealership that you paid to fix the car the opportunity to make it right.

the story you gave has happened a few times in the industry, but almost never in oem dealerships (usually heard of it happening at tiny independents) and pretty much never OVERNIGHT.

actually lets just let him sue the dealer and then lose and pay 2x more the original cost of the job in lawyer fees.

Rolex: Sir, you are a gentleman and a scholar. Many thanks for taking and posting that picture, and describing the location. You have gone above and beyond.

On behalf of all us new guys trying to learn our cars, I thank you.

Now wouldn't it be great if every poster on Club Lexus behaved in the manner exemplified by Rolex? Think of how friendly and helpful a place it would be. Think of how much we would all learn. And most important of all, think of all the money we would all collectively save.

Thanks again Rolex.
