Default What is this body part called? 94 - LS400

Hey guys --

I need to replace this part, and as I just did with my door handle.. I would really like to find a used one somewhere of the same color. I'm not going for absolute perfection.. but with the silver'ish color of my car things blend pretty easy.

The piece I am talking about is a plastic molding on the rear passenger side just before the door, it lips around the wheel well area. Looks like two clips hold it in, it has a tiny strip of chrome on it as well.

I'm not sure what to call it, so hard to find it when you don't know the name of it.

If any of you know a junker with that part in my color I'll buy it off you -- (I know this isn't buy/sale.. so I won't go any further there)

Much appreciated,

Yup..

I assume you mean the part off your white LS you've been parting? I'm looking for a color match at the moment. I'm just going to pop it in for cosmetics.

So unless you happen to have the part in my color, shrug.

I've checked ebay, but where else can I search for specific LS400 parts in my color? Don't seem to find much else.

Thanks

A new one is $136.00 and may come unpainted. Its called a "Right Garnish Panel"... You can find it on parts.com under -> Quarter Panel -> Exterior Trim -> Center Molding -> Garnish Panel...

Glad to see you around

Champagne, thats it. Though Champagne is a beverage not a typical color

Anyhow,.. thanks Jim, now I have a proper name.

Are you sure it is 'right' ? Do you judge right from left side looking at the front or rear of a car?

I always prefer driver/passenger references, so is that the right or left?

I'm also pretty sure that would not be painted,.. so I will just have to find one somewhere, I got a door handle in the color why not a Garnish panel?

Thanks

left and right are judged facing the front of the car. i.e. left hand drive and right hand drive vehicles.

True but, old time mechanics (such as myself) used to consider L and R by sitting in the car except for the engine which you are looking at backwards so the drivers side is R. Until the damn transverse engines came in then we were all messed up. Then everyone just said driver or passenger side. I miss the old days.
Neofate; there might be one of those at my local J/Y, there was a couple months ago. It might have been a '96 though. (not sure) I'm going there this weekend, I'll take a look.
