Default Coconut oil as conditioner?

so i used an armer all cleaner/conditioner but im trying to regain the buttery soft feel of the leather. I used coconut oil on the leather overnight which really does a great job and i would def reccomend it. I also used it on the door and window seals, lol, and the very bottom black all around the car, was this a bad idea? i wasnt sure what else to use.

I bet your car smells good now. I used leatherique but it didn't help much, it was great stuff on my land cruiser leather but not the lex so much. I have heard mink oil was good too. Anyone else try mink or coconut? I might give that a try if anyone else has had a good experience.

I too was disappointed in Leatherique. Very expensive with very marginal results.

I was impressed with what it did on my land cruiser leather and that is 17 years old.

from what i have read the older lexus leather is coated so conditioning products don't penetrate into the actual leather. however, last time this was brought up some guys insisted they got good results from leatherique so i dunno...

I suppose you could say it is hit and miss. Different leathers will react differently to Leatherique.

I think it is overpriced though. ArmorAll seems to do a fine job but for a quarter of the price.

Judging from the results I would say it's probably a really good conditioner.

Where do you buy it from? How often do you use it?

Thanks!

Looks interesting and based on price maybe a better suggestion than higher priced alternatives. Once leather is hard I just don't see any cure but maybe this stuff would be a good, inexpensive alternative. Saddle soap was not effective on mine.

no, I bought this in 1980, when we got some horses, then in 96 I retired and just kept it around and used it on my lincolns and now the LS's, it works for me, no reason to change.

I'm thinking the 55-gallon drums may be a bit much.

How does it smell? What about drying time and tackiness afterwards?
