so i was at the tint shop today getting my rear window finished as its the hardest too do and i messed it up, when an older guy came up and started talking to me about the car and the 17" rims i put on it, than some younger guy came by and was checking out the car and said it was a sick ride. Lol, but a guy i work with keeps calling it a grandpa car even though i changed the rims, anyone else had any of these same thoughts from others?

I get mad props from people thinking it's a 2005 when it's 1995. I did upgrade the wheels to the LS430's 18's so that helps. I agree, on stock wheels it did look like grandpa.

People compliment how nice my LS400 is. Then I tell them the year...and they nearly fall over. Maybe they just see the emblem and it overwhelms them. Dunno.

I dunno what is the better image, young guy driving an older model Lexus or older guy driving a newer Civic. I'd take the older upscale ride so long as it isn't a Town Car or Buick Lucerne.

Haha! Grandpa's car....Haven't heard that one in a while. I detail professionally for a lexus dealership and I get compliments on how clean and well maintained the vehicle is before they can even start to say it's for old folks. However modifications do help quite a bit

I get compliments on my car from time to time but they're occurring less and less often. It shows my car's age. My car looks fine physically, but the lines are getting out of style.

Most thinks its newer than it is too. Alot think it's some sort of Benz because of the badgeless grille.
