Default 98 LS Value

I have a co-worker who might be interested in buying my 98 LS with 132,700 miles. Did the timing belt and water pump at 90K and have kept up with maintenance. Car is in excellent condition, except for some fading on the rear bumper.

I also intend to search KBB, NADA and Edmund's to get an idea as well.

Since this is a co-worker, I would want to ask a fair price. Thanks for any input.

I KBB'd my '97 LS yesterday just for kicks. It's got 136,000 on it and save for a small crack in the front bumper, is in excellent condition. Dealer trade in value was around $4,700, and private party was around $5,300. Suggested retail was around $7,500. Had all the timing belt, water pump, etc maintenance done a couple years ago.

Have you checked on eBay to see what similar ones are going for? They're usually higher than what KBB, Edmunds and NADA suggest.

There's a '98 on there now that looks rather clean, with 129,000, and it's going for $8,500.

there's a decent difference in 97 and 98 resale because the 98 is more desirable in the market due to its more contemporary looks and power.

decent cali pricing for your car (retail, but not a lexus dealership) would be in the 9-9.5k range, knock off about 1000-1500 for private party.

Thanks PD. I found one on AutoTrader in my area with about 20K more miles than mine going for $8950.
