Still running the car the way it is. The coolant level is staying around the same spot, but I am procrastinating on bringing the car to the garage.

I'm hoping to get the car to the garage in the next couple of weeks.

When water pumps start to go, they can leak very sporatically, sometimes you can stare at it for 10minutes and it won't leak out of the weep hole.

Like the other guy said, don't get excited about HG, people tend to blame them prematurly, I often have. Keep an eye on that overflow tank, the cap on it blew off mine and it was leaking coolant everywhere. Make sure you do an acid test on the coolant before you do anything drastic.

Well my mechanic looked at it... It was a hose that was leaking from the overflow tank.

It was actually a clamp on the hose that was going bad. It leaked from there...

I will see how the temp. fluctuation changes. Hopefully it will be rock solid at the proper temperature.

This is what my 96 is also doing . White smoke . I am getting my buddies together this month and doing a complete testing and looking around the motor . Radiator, p valve, compression test , seems minor and believe we can nail it . I will give my results soon . This forum has been very benificial , especially since im on a budget .

Check for power steering fluid leakage around the air control valve on the power steering pump. These don't tend to last much more beyond 80K so with age they leak even more allowing PS fluid to be drawn into the intake plenum though the vacuum lines there.

RA40 the ECU/ECM i got today was for a 95 ls400 , got a great deal on it even compared to ebay and used websites , just a bit curious if my fuel injector is stuck open or ecu is bad cause i get white smoke and gas smell from exhaust , i havent done any actual diagnostic tests just yet, but going to pick your part and exploring better conditioned lexus cars in their yard and getting newer looking parts accessories .
