Have you checked eBay? If I remember correctly, you have the stock Pioneer audio system and recently started another thread about switching it out for an OEM nav system.

It's more usual for people to go the other way -- 98-00 OEM nav to standard audio system or to an aftermarket system.

There is a lot more to the 98-00 OEM nav system than what you see in the dash. There is an ECU in the trunk and a wiring harness to connect the two. There is also an antenna for the nav that goes inside the dashboard. And it has to connect to the radio amplifier under the front passenger seat.

In 2003 when I bought my 2000 LS400, everybody that knew anything about the 98-00 OEM nav system recommended that I not consider any cars that had it. It really is pathetic with very little map detail outside cities and there have been no map updates since about 2004 -- it's been proclaimed dead for all practical purposes by Lexus.

If you want nav in your 2000 LS400, get a modern portable nav and mount it on a bracket by your radio like I did. You can hardwire it so that it turns on and off with your ignition and hide all the wires for it inside the center stack. $150 ***** buy a Garmin that will blow the old 98-00 nav away.

I actually kinda like my 98 LS400 factory Nav system... At first after reading what you've said about people wanting to swap it out, i thought i'd want to get rid of it, but after a little use its really not all that bad.

maybe not in WI, but here in cali if you arent updated every 2 years you're not going to get very far, with all the traffic/flow changes...

If there was an in-dash navi that updated via google maps I'd get it in a heartbeat.

I use my motorola droid via the google maps app for navigation and it's always right on the money.
