Default MAF to MAP conversion

So, I know its possible to do on LSX (corvette) engines, what about on our cars? The VVT engines run MAP's right? could one of there sensors be adapted, I'm going out of town so I can't test a vette sensor out but I have access to them super cheap and all the wiring harness connectors so I will see what readings I can pull from them. does anyone have a chart of RPM to MAF readings? That would be super helpful.

what exactly do you want to do? the VVT-i LS400s (98-00) use hot-wire MAF meters, not MAP. you want to switch to 3-bar GM MAP sensor? you'll need something along the lines of the maft pro or the like....

mind you, unless you're FI, there's no point.

Just one less thing on the intake, would allow for cheaper CAI and IMHO MAPs are better (more accurate and less expensive) than MAFs... is there any LS4X0 motor that does use a MAP?

no, there arent.

no, the '95+ MAFs (89-94 all use AFMs) arent much of a restriction for 1uz in all of its stock cam glory.

Why do you say they aren't? At the shop I work at we could use MAFs or MAPs on our LS engines but we use MAPs because it simplifies the intakes, removes a restriction, and is less likely to fail/get dirty. Most of our engines are 550+ Naturally aspirated LS3 or LS7's

Your last question does not make sense.
There are no LS series motors that use a MAP and PD is saying the stock MAF is not that big of a restriction. Why? Because it is.
GM engines not = to Toyota engines.

Lets not use GM's LS series engine with Lexus LS engines (1/3UZ)

None of the 1/3UZ engines use MAP. The early 1UZ uses Karman Vortex AFM, and everything after that is a hot wire MAF.

You could implement MAP, but you will likely need an aftermarket ECU. Its possible that MAFT pro could work, but they are mostly meant for DSM's. I think some Supra guys used them.
