first Gen ls problems with ipod adapter. Help the n00b <----
Needing some help I bought the monster icarplay cassette adapter for my 1990 LS400. Had high hopes I would be able to listen to my favorite music in my first Lexus but No. First off I can hear the music but its very very quiet and there is a hissing noise that is not usually there. then after about a minute the cassette is popped back out. Im assuming I dont know how to use the radio since I just barely got this car, are there any tricks I should know about that would help me fix the problem?
thanx in advance

Let me get this straight, you put in the cassette adapter and heard the music but it was very low with a hissing sound. Then the cassette adapter popped back out? Try putting it back in? Try switching from radio to tape, FM1/2 to tape?
Problem with my car is when its chilly or during the morning, the tape player fails. Sounds is low with a hissing noise even when volume is maxed in the car and the ipod. To relieve some of this, I usually have the radio on fairly loud when I'm warming up my car. (5-10mins give and take) By the time I am ready the go, the sound isn't as low and actually acceptable. Its fine after that for the rest of the day and gets better, don't know why. Its kind of like my car doesn't like being cold.
Don't know if any of this was useful to you but just sharing because I have a similar situation. For the cassette being popped back out, I'm not really sure, it may be your cassette player and it's time to buy a FM Transmitter.
Good Luck.
